Matt Haslett: Founder, teacher, coach.

I’ve spent more than 14 years in education — as a teacher, department leader, ELA curriculum developer, and now as Director of a small school in Bentonville. Along the way, I earned a Master’s degree in Education with a specialization in Adolescent Executive Functioning. That training deepened my conviction that every subject and every interaction is an opportunity to develop the whole person — not just transmit information.  I’ve learned that the most effective learning environments share a few key traits: small class sizes, genuine individualized attention, passionate teachers, and content rooted in strong values. While I believe strongly in the power of co-educational classrooms, my own upbringing in all-boys schools and summer camps also showed me the unique impact positive male role models can have on boys.  This is why I offer private coaching exclusively for boys — to help them navigate the journey from adolescence into manhood with clarity, self-mastery, and strong character.  At the same time, I’m deeply passionate about teaching English Language Arts to both boys and girls because few subjects offer the same power to build strong reading and writing skills while creating space for meaningful discussion, moral reasoning, and personal growth.At Foundations, whether in our small writing classes (open to both boys and girls) or in one-on-one coaching, my goal remains the same: to partner with parents in raising thoughtful, grounded, and values-driven young people.
